Description

The Network Service Interface (NSI) is a web-service based API that operates between a requester software agent and a provider software agent. The NSI incorporates a suite of services which share a common framework described in GFD.173 'Network Services Framework'.

The 'NSI Connection Service Protocol' v2.0 recommendation describes the protocol, state machine, architecture and associated processes and environment in which software agents interact to deliver a Connection. A Connection is a point-to-point network circuit that can transit multiple networks belonging to different providers.

Update from the standards council: since the changes from the previous version are substantial, we will instead await a review from the area director. Thanks,

I have reviewed the updated NSI Connection Service v2.0 doc and sent some comments back to the co-chairs. There are a few formatting matters and some items to clarify, but I think there is only one issue related to the separation of the NSI protocol and the Transport layer (SOAP). They are working though the suggestions and aim to have the doc back to the document process & myself by Friday 10 Jan 14. I propose we release the Friday veraion for public comment.
