Description
Hi Greg,
Please find attached our draft NSI CS version 2.1. This document obsoletes version NSI CS 2.0. The new version includes updates to support the updated NSI policy, refines some functions and includes experiences based on implementation.
I am working on a delta document to show the differences between the two versions of the protocol. I will add this document to this Redmine issue shortly.
We would like this version to go out for public comment soon to give the community a chance to give their input.
Regards,
Guy

Dear Guy,
Apologies for not responding immediately. Per the standards telecon on May 17, my understanding is there is a desire to move the other pending NSI documents forward.
I think that if you can upload the delta document, we can get it reviewed by standards council for posting to public comment. Thanks.

- Status changed from submitted to AD review
- Assignee changed from Greg Newby to Richard Hughes-Jones
Per the standards council telecon July 1:
1. For the authors: Please submit a clean document (no "track changes"), update the copyright date to 2016. Please update the document with the correct header, and copyright statement. These are in the "templates" area of Redmine.
2. For Richard, we need AD confirmation this is ready to move to public comment.

Authors/editors: There was a public comment pointing out an issue. Would you please take a look, and then either respond and/or provide an updated final version for publication? Thanks...

I sent a separate status email to Guy, in case he didn't see the redmine notification.

There is still no response. Per the public comments, the document needs a schema update before it can be published. Once that is received, #308 and #323 will be published together.
The public comments are here: https://redmine.ogf.org/projects/editor-pubcom/boards/41

I sent another email follow-up to Guy. This is still awaiting action from the contributor.

Thanks Greg for prompting us on this.
We have now incorporated the pubic comments and made the following additional changes:
- updated the References section. It was a bit outdated and some of the numbers pointed to the wrong references.
- added an additional reference to the NSI CS 2.1 XSD in GitHub.

Guy

Greg,
The advantage of the delay in publication is that we NRENs coding to the standard, so we have been making some minor adjustments. I have updated the document to version 15 (attached) with the following changes to section 9.3.8:
The internet2 implementation found an issue with my UUID specification in the document and the schema. In the following version only allows for lowercase characters:
urn:uuid:[a-f0-9]{8}-[a-f0-9]{4}-[a-f0-9]{4}-[a-f0-9]{4}-[a-f0-9]{12}
The internet2 implementation was the first to provide upper case characters and break the SURFnet aggregate implementation. I checked the standards and realized I forgot the uppercase characters in the UUID specification. It should appear as follows:
urn:uuid:[a-fA-F0-9]{8}-[a-fA-F0-9]{4}-[a-fA-F0-9]{4}-[a-fA-F0-9]{4}-[a-fA-F0-9]{12}

Thanks for this, Guy. The standards council took a quick look in today's meeting, and we will be ready to approve publication at our next fortnightly meeting.
Two inquiries:
1. Author affiliations are not listed in the header. Would you like to add these? It's not a requirement, but is typically done. You could also add a section towards the end that lists affiliations.
2. Since you have made the further change with UUID, should you also upload #323, the Delta document? https://redmine.ogf.org/issues/323
Both documents (323 & 308) need to have the correct current copyright statement added (from #152 at www.ogf.org). I will do this, unless you happen to do it sooner. I will also assign GWD numbers and adjust the headers/dates, as part of the final publication process.
Thanks again. I'm looking forward to publishing these. Best,
Greg
