The concept of 'potentially trailing group' is needed when suppressing separators. It is used by schemas for EDI formats. EDI segments can contain repeating fields which use a different 'repeat' separator, and this is best modelled as a sequence to carry the repeat separator with a single child repeating element. If the repeating field is optional and empty, this should not break suppression of the segment's separators. However 'potentially trailing group' is only mentioned in one plave in section 14.2. Sections 14.2.2 & 14.2.3 should be updated to take into account 'potentially trailing group' where appropriate.
