Minutes of the 10-June-2003 CGS-WG telephone conference

A CGS-WG telecon was held on June 10, 2003 (8AM Pacific time).

Attendees were:

Larry Flon (USC/ISI)
Viktor Mihajlovski (IBM Germany)
Heidi Neumann (IBM Germany)
Ellen Stokes (IBM)

Agenda

  1. Review latest JSIM model and spec
  2. Review Open Issues, and close as many as possible. See http://bugzilla.gridforum.org/cgs-wg for current issues.
  3. GGF8 session planning
  4. Any new business?
  1. Review Latest JSIM Draft

The latest JSIM draft was posted on 6-June-2003.  The UML is available in PDF here and the Spec here.

Viktor raised a question about the association between BatchJob (and BatchService) and GroupOfSystems.  Although the inherited association OwningCollectionElement is defined between CIM Collection and CIM ManagedElement, "owning" is not a good term in this case.  Viktor will send a change proposal to Ellen and we will produce an update to the model prior to GGF8.

  1. Review Open Issues

Refer to  http://bugzilla.gridforum.org/cgs-wg for further information on the issues/bugs referenced, or click on the bug number below.

Ellen stated that CIM 2.8 is entering DMTF Company Review soon, and is scheduled for release on August 13.  We have a window to make changes that ends on July 9.  Remaining issues include the elements RunningJobs and WaitingJobs in QueueStatisticalData, and MaxJobCPUTime in JobQueue.
  1. GGF8 Session Planning

Larry will issue a request to the list to review the latest model and raise issues that can either be resolved prior to GGF8 (we have one more telecon before then) or that can be discussed at GGF8.  If there are no issues left open as of the meeting in Seattle, we will get the document ready for GGF submission.
